This year at NXNE was one of the best! It doesn't take a lot to fill up your days, a mere few great bands will do just that. I was early enough for every show, and didn't get the dreaded capacity lock out I experienced many times last year, even with a priority pass. I had the best spot in the house at Lee's Palace to see Goat & Pissed Jeans who were both a few of the major highlights of the festival for me. Also seeing Metz twice and Swans at Young and Dundas was exceptionally fantastic.
There were a variety of awesome events at Edward Day gallery over the weekend. The Pizza Underground Pizza party offered free pizza, Velvet Underground covers with lyrics about pizza as well as a 5 foot pizza on stage definitely giving 'za the love it deserves.
The People Put Out party on sunday had a great lineup and a local indie label market. My longtime pal Ivy Lovell was there selling various prints and great amounts of beer were had by all who desired.

This statue outside Edward day has incredibly versatile hand gestures! They held pizza for the Pizza Underground show, beers for the Put Out Productions event & Fleshlights for the comedy party.
