There's a lot of action going on in my shop at the Leslieville Arts Market this holiday season! I've been working extra hard to bring lots of new pieces in every day, and I enjoy every minute of wrapping them up for you with a tiny bow! Shop local this Christmas to give the gift that keeps giving! There is nothing more thoughtful or timeless than a one of a kind piece of jewellery!
Dream Team
For the past few months I have been working on a jewel collaboration with my good friend Azil Mckeown. Much like myself, she is a renaissance woman of many talents, the two of us working together are an ultimate dream team! After years of doing photo shoots together, we have finally decided to blend Azil's love and eye for natural stones, my vintage treasures, and our technical and creative sills to create this line of one of a kind luxurious jewels.
In the spirit of the holidays we have decided to make a select few of our favourites available at my shop in Arts Market starting this weekend until Dec 24th! This is a limited opportunity as we have yet to launch or collection officially, and if you miss out now, you will have to wait!
Arts Market Holiday Hours
Until Dec 24th, Arts Market will have extended hours to better help you shop local this holiday season!
You will find me at my shop in the Leslieville location every day during this time to help you pick the perfect gift, customize sizing, wrap your gifts and most of all to meet you!

Happy Halloween!
I love Halloween, a night full of fun, creativity, ghouls and weirdos! I took special care adding hand sewn details to this vintage black costume dress I picked up thrifting to give my Morticia look the couture elements she deserves. Hope you all had an amazing Halloween weekend!
Works in Progress
I've been working on a few large scale illustrations lately. There will be lots of new original pieces, and prints available for the holidays!

What's New This Week at Arts Market
New Mixed Metals mini collection at the Leslieville Arts Market
I went to Fan Expo and all I got was….
For the very first time, I waited in a very long line at Fan Expo, for a quick photo with a celeb, like a big nerd. But I couldn't possibly pass up the chance to meet Mads Mikkelsen! He has portrayed an diverse range of fascinating characters in Danish cinema and recently 'killed it' in the roll of Hannibal Lecter.
I met some Fannibals in line for the photo, and it was great to finally nerd out and talk about all things Hannibal!
Everyone is sad to say goodbye to the show, but we are so thankful to have at least three seasons of this masterpiece to enjoy! Despite its short life, Hannibal has a VERY dedicated cult fan base that will keep the spirit alive for many cons to come!
Featured on Makeful!
So thrilled to be a featured on the new Makeful Channel! Makeful Celebrates the handmade community and they have some exciting new projects on the go that I am excited to be a part of!
Bat filled weekend at the shop
I was lucky enough this weekend to have a fantastic client drive to Niagara so I could tattoo one of my original designs on her. Nancy bought my Masked Pyjama Party print at the Fringe Festival Market, and loves it so much she wanted to carry it with her forever! I am honoured she is such a big fan of my masked ladies, thanks Nancy!!
Want an original design? Email me to make an appointment, I am at the shop next weekend Saturday & Sunday
Old Hollywood
A late night decision to do some painting and try to capture the larger than life looks of a dashing young Tyrone Power yields pleasing results. One of my largest paintings to date.
Heatwave Interview
I was paid a visit by a lovely crew from Blue Ant Media, to talk about my work, inspirations and film me doing my thing in the studio. It sure was hot out this Wednesday, and having my studio full of lights certainly turned up the heat. We all got through it in the end, and had an a great time regardless. The interview is for an up and coming series and is top secret for now! Stay tuned for updates.
Reunited with the sound of tattoo machines
I am excited to announce that I will be working at Lucky 13 in Niagara Falls, tattooing alongside my good friend, antique and oddity collector/dealer and super clean old school tattooer, Steve Davis, every Friday and Saturday this summer! Tattooing was my second love, after drawing, and the reason I moved to Toronto in the first place. I didn't realize how much I missed it, until I took Steve up on his long standing offer to come work with him. It's the best decision i've made in a long time, and I love visiting my hometown for all its decrepit ruins and hokeyness. I am very busy working on some original and classic designs to bring down with me next weekend and would love to see you! I am keen to tattoo some of my new original artwork, and get a fancy portfolio going! Contact info@amindawood.com to set up an appointment or discuss designs.
New at Arts Market this week
Fringe Club Recap
What a week! Rained out HARD on day one and a few too many hours in the blistering sun for this vampiric night owl. Overall, despite the elements, the Traveling Arts Market vendors and I had a great time and couldn't have asked for a more wonderful crowd! On July 9th, Arts Market and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary, I am proud to be the last remaining original vendor! I have been part of the Leslieville location since the very first day and we have grown together over the years. I'm not sure what I would be doing right now if I hadn't joined Arts Market and started up this treasuring/jewelstress business, but I am happy life lead me here! Thank you so much to all my amazing customers, to Daniel Cohen for creating Arts Market, my supportive and encouraging friends and a special loving thank you to my mom for all her support and additional treasure hunting outside Toronto!
